The Lady Belle
The Lady Belle Bar is the oldest pub in Dungarvan. The square was built by The Duke of Devonshire between 1820 and 1825 and has always been an ale house since that time. We named the bar The Lady Belle after a merchant steamer which operated out of Dungarvan for 40 years around the British Isles, Ireland and France. It was bombed outside Cardiff during the second world war and fortunately both boat and crew survived. We have some great old photos in The Lady Belle (the beautiful lady).

We rebuilt the interior of the building from the roof to the ground floor in 2000. As outside the bar was a listed building the job was extremely delicate. The bar and backdrop had to be removed and replaced and is a magnificent example of its time.
